Went to my local Trader Joe’s on this past Saturday (11/11) and they were already sold out of truffle butter “for the season.” Gotta jump on Trader Joe’s LTOs faster than a new iPhone…
Tried the new gingerbread mix with crystallized ginger pieces and did not like it at all. Ginger flavoring was mild and ginger pieces did not add anything. Bought six boxes because I know it’s a seasonal thing – returning five boxes tomorrow. Wondering if they still have old type – hope so – I so look forward to this mix every year.
I just realized that they had a different version when I baked up a box—it came out blonde and lacked the taste of molasses which I always associate with gingerbread. I had not thought to return the 5 boxes that I had already bought, but that is a good way to let TJ that they ruined the perfect gingerbread cake mix. We won’t have to worry about stocking up every holiday season.
Amarena Cherries are delicious. So much better than the bright red maraschinos for your cocktails.
The Amarena Cherries are the most delicious preserved cherries I have ever tasted. I went back to get more and they were out. I saw that someone was offering them on E Bay for 8 X the price! And other Amarena cherries were sold for 16-50 dollars. So if you can them on shelves near you don’t hesitate. They would make lovely gifts if you don’t eat them yourself first.
