Watermelon freez

Update: We reviewed it! Click here to read our review.

Taco Bell has rolled out a Watermelon Freeze for the summer.

The watermelon-flavored slush also comes with seeds, but not actual watermelon seeds because that would be weird. The “seeds” are candy, so you can eat them, or, if you want to waste perfectly good candy, spit them out.

A 16-ounce Watermelon Freeze has 220 calories, 0 grams of fat, 60 milligrams of sodium, 59 grams of carbohydrates, 0 grams of fiber, 58 grams of sugar, and 0 grams of protein.

  1. I didn’t like it. I rather have a good ole fashioned slushie from the ice cream truck that rides around the neighbor hood . Lol

  2. I’ve worked at Taco Bell for three years, and I’ve gotta say that this is one of my favorite freezes that we’ve gotten since I started, if not my favorite. It’s super refreshing after standing on the hot line for several hours straight during a rush. The candies are pretty good, too. They taste like watermelon flavored runts.

As for the negatives: The flavor is a bit milder than I was expecting, so some might not find it flavorful enough. But I tend to find all the freezes to be blander than they look, so that may just be an issue with my expectations. The candies are good, but settle at the bottom and around the edges, so it can be hard finding them.

  3. The watermelon slush itself is not horrible, but the candies are perfectly disgusting. I would highly recommend spitting them out.

  4. I thought this was pretty good. The seeds giving it nice flavor of watermelon. I hope Taco Bell do more of the innovation flavors. They could take a big risk and do a pumpkin spice freeze. Or even peppermint

  5. They left out my candy seeds and green straw. But I love the flavor… also one of my favorites I’ve tried. Def better than the strawberry skittles one and the blue raspberry airhead

  6. The slushie itself was gross and tasted weird, and the candies were the best part. The slushie didn’t even taste like watermelon, but the candies did.

  7. I like the watermelon slushy, but the “fake seeds (sugar candy)” needs to GO! The frozen drink itself has more than enough sugar in it and ADDING yet more sugar to it in the form of candy seeds is just going too far.
I realize that it must have been some “brilliant” marketing strategist who came up with the idea of candy seeds but they had no clue that the LAST thing that any person needs is MORE sugar in an already sugary drink…
I have an idea, Taco Bell… give the customers a choice of with or without seeds and ASK EVERY CUSTOMER at the time they are ordering the drink… After all, the customers are the ones footing the bill and we should be given the option of with our without… Respectfully!
