Popeyes Chicken Sandwich is coming back on Sunday, November 3rd, wich turns out is National Sandwich Day.
If you don’t know the tale of Popeyes Chicken Sandwich, it was released nationwide on August 12, 2019. It featured a buttermilk-battered white meat chicken breast, mayonnaise, and pickles on a toasted brioche bun. You could also get a spicy version with spicy mayo. The sandwich got rave reviews and it was so popular that it sold out within two weeks.
But now it’s back after two months of, I assume, building a large stock of buttermilk-battered white meat chicken breast, mayonnaise, pickles, and brioche buns.
While it’s nice that the most notorious chicken sandwich of the year is returning, my question is: Will it sell out again?

Also they decided to release on Sunday to “troll” Chik-Fil-A on this.

Big Deal. Chick-Fil-A is closed on Sundays and they still outsell Popeye’s on a regular basis and are able to meet the demand of their customers.

I can understand selling out that day, or the weekend at a particular location, but selling out for months across the country just seems like either poor planning or great marketing!
It was originally an LTO, and they only had a set amount of the product. They didn’t anticipate the demand was what it would be and depleted the stock before the promotion was set to end.
No, it wasn’t a LTO it was always intended to be a permanent menu addition. They sourced ingredients based on demand estimation for a number of months, only the sandwich was wildly more popular than they expected and didn’t have the supply chain to support it.
So curious if any of our fellow impulsive buy readers has actually tried this and if so, thoughts?

I don’t get it.
I tried it and I think the main thing it has going for it is size because it is fat with plenty of meat on the inside but it also has that classic Popeyes breading which I am a fan of and I think its better to get a chicken sandwich from a place that specializes in Chicken compared to a place that is known for their burgers.
My girlfriend nearly killed me to get this chicken sandwich people who like this sandwich don’t have taste buds this shit sucks 100 percent it’s dry with no flavor the bread is wack it’s the worst my girl ain’t getting no dick for that one
