SPOTTED: Cheez-It Loaded Popcorn

Cheez It Loaded Popcorn White Cheddar

Cheez It Loaded Popcorn Cheddar

I dunno. “Loaded” seems like an unnecessary word here. The name Cheez-It is enough to get folks interested in it. Cheetos didn’t add any adjectives to its popcorn. (Spotted by Michael F at Giant.)

  1. Could just save yourself some money and buy a generic cheesy popcorn at the grocery, or buy the cheese popcorn shakers…

    1. Or you could wind up spending even more money because the generic version might taste like shit.

          1. I tried the White Cheddar version a few nights ago. It was average cheese popcorn. No better or no worse than your average cheese popcorn. Maybe a tiny bit saltier than some other brands. I didn’t really notice the cheese tasting like a Cheez-It though. i think I ultimately prefer the normal cheese popcorn brands like Wise, Good Nature, etc., but it was decent. Maybe the regular cheddar flavor tastes more like a Cheez-It though. Not sure about that flavor.

        1. I’m not saying that they won’t, of course, but if you do buy the generic version of any food, it’s more likely to taste like crap, sadly.

          1. Yeah, that’s true in a lot of cases. I don’t think I’ve ever bought generic brand bagged popcorn at stores. I usually go with Wise, Herrs, or the more niche brands you’ll find in the Healthy Food aisles in ShopRites or other supermarkets. I’ve tried cold cereals, oatmeals, cookies, and sodas that were generic store brand versions and there were times the taste was a little off from the real thing it was copying. In very few instances, the generic brands even tasted better than the original brand it was imitating, but that’s usually not the case.

      1. I agree! Try the $ store “Cheetos” how can something like that have no flavor? The wildlife liked it but it was a waste of money.

  2. I agree with you Steve, about some generic/store brand products actually tasting better than name brand. For instance, essentially all of Kroger’s items are stellar, just the same as if not better than name brand.
