Update: We tried it! Click here to read our review.

Ah yes, the Black Forest Cake, or as I like call it to make me look intelligent, but I’m really not, Black Forest gâteau — chocolate sponge cake, whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and, of course, cherries. (Spotted by Michael K at Target.)

  1. I might find these interesting, except that I just tried M&Ms with a strawberry liquid center (from around Halloween) and was disappointed in the way-artificial strawberry flavor–hopefully, M&Ms gets the cherry flavor here down better.

    1. They used to have a cherry M&Ms years ago and they’re my favorite hands down. They were so frigging good! Tasted kind of like that chocolate cherry cordial candies you see.

      1. Nice nod to a great flavor that didn’t stick around for nearly long enough. I hope these black forest live up to their Cherry predecessor.

      2. I can’t recall the M&M’s though I remember the cherry cordial Kisses and that they were stellar!

        1. I really like the cherry cordial Kisses as well despite not being a big fan of the traditional Kisses. The fruity centers are addicting.

  2. Why not they do a cherry marshmallow center? They have the technology to make soft centers (caramel). Experiment more with soft centers.

  3. These are very underwhelming to me.
Tastes like a generic M&M for the most part. The small hint of raspberry in the backend is very faint and barely noticeable. Sure it’s great they came out with a new variety, but the execution needs to be fine-tuned.
    6.5-7/10 at best IMO.
