Ben & Jerry’s is partnering with award-winning filmmaker Ava DuVernay to offer a new flavor that’ll hit shelves nationwide starting in January 2023.
Lights! Caramel! Action! features vanilla ice cream with salted caramel swirls, graham cracker swirls, gobs of chocolate chip cookie dough, and a name that makes me smile because it’s just so dang clever. The flavor will also be in a non-dairy version that has an almond milk base. Ava DuVernay worked with Ben & Jerry’s Flavor Gurus to come up with the new creation.
The flavor is a full-time addition to Ben & Jerry’s vast flavor line-up and will not only be available in pints at stores across the nation but also at Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops.
Proceeds from Lights! Caramel! Action! will benefit Ava DuVernay’s non-profit ARRAY Alliance which promotes and elevates the work of artists of color and women directors, creates inclusive film sets, and provides grants, mentorship, and education for people from underrepresented communities who want to work in the film industry.
