Sadly, it doesn’t look like this cake is made from Peeps smooshed together. (Spotted by Robbie at Itsugar.)
If you’re out shopping and see new products, snap a picture of them, and send them in via an email ([email protected]) with where you found them and “Spotted” in the subject line. Also, if you want to send in photos and are wondering if we’ve already covered something or if they’re new, don’t worry about it. Let us worry about it.

On the label, I see everything this dessert DOESN”T contain.
What is it made of?
Sugar, modified food starch, gum arabic, food dyes, and a bunch of other chemical stuff…

It’s just cotton candy that you can slice. Hard pass for me.
Right? I thought, is it actually a cake, or is it a marshmallow peep that looks like a cake? I assumed cotton candy flavored, but, no, googling confirmed it’s a puck of cotton candy that looks and slices like a cake. I can’t find the ingredients list, but I’m guessing mainly sugar and artificial colors and flavors. Apparently it’s a social media thing. It sounds so bad and stupid that I almost want to try it.
For Joe, Katie, and anyone else interested:
The “cake” is made entirely of cotton candy, as Katie points out.
Believe the original brand that made this confection popular is Floof. The Floof cakes are quite expensive for what they are, and there are many “flavors”.
The Party Puffs brand is a replica of the Floof original but sells at a slightly lower price, depending on the “cake” size, and is aimed more at the retail store market (like Amazon, CVS, etc) whereas does direct to customer sales and through Goldbelly. They also have many “flavors”, including this Peep flavored variety. The ingredients for this specific flavor are not yet listed on the manufacturer website or retailer sites.
But here are the ingredients for a different flavor of a Party Puffs Cotton Candy Cake:
Ingredients: COTTON CANDY (SUGAR, MODIFIED FOOD STARCH, MALTODEXTRIN, GUM ARABIC, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL COLORS AND FLAVORS. IT CONTAINS ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING: BLUE #1, RED #40, YELLOW #5, YELLOW #6, GREEN #3) MARSHMALLOW BITS (SUGAR, FOOD STARCH-MODIFIED, CORN SYRUP, DEXTROSE, CONTAINS LESS THAN 2% OF GELATIN, SODIUM HEXAMETAPHOSPHATE, ARTIFICIAL AND NATURAL FLAVORS, ARTIFICIAL COLORS YELLOW 5, RED 40, BLUE 1, YELLOW 6)
As a side note, my teeth hurt just reading all that.
Thank you kindly, dude.
Thanks, Dude!
Here’s my advice that nobody asked for. Skip this crap, and buy yourselves a cotton candy maker instead. Your dentist will thank you. 😀
