FAST FOOD NEWS – McDonald’s Raspberry Sweet Tea and Diet Sweet Tea

McDonald's Raspberry Sweet Tea and Diet Sweet Tea

Maybe it’s the mid-80 degree weather I’m sitting in as I type this or the sweater I’m wearing, but I’d kill for some McDonald’s Raspberry Sweet Tea or even Diet Sweet Tea right now. What’s in the Diet Sweet Tea? Only the finest in artificial sweeteners, aspartame, sucralose, and acesulfame potassium. There aren’t any mentions of these sweet teas on the McDonald’s website, so they’re probably test items. If you’ve seen them at a McDonald’s near you, let us know where in the comments. (Thanks for the photo, James!)

Oh, while doing some digging, I found this commercial.

GLOBAL GRUB – Kellogg’s Vector Meal Replacement (Canada)

Kellogg's Vector Meal Replacement

It looks like breakfast cereal, but Kellogg’s Canada calls it a “meal replacement.” Don’t believe me? Here’s its page on the Kellogg’s Canada website. Vector Breakfast Cereal Meal Replacement has been around for years in Canada and consists of crunchy flakes and granola clusters, and Kellogg’s considers it to be a meal replacement because a serving with milk proves 13 grams of protein, 54 grams of carbohydrates, and 22 vitamins and minerals. Vector also has a line of protein bars, but they don’t seem to be meal replacement bars. Well, I guess if one eats enough of them, they could be a meal replacement.

SPOTTED ON SHELVES – General Mills Cheerios Protein Cereal

General Mills Cheerios Protein Cereal

A serving of Cheerios Protein with milk has 11 grams of protein, but if your inconsiderate roommate drank all the milk and put the empty carton back in the fridge, you can still get 7 grams of protein, which should still be enough protein to build some muscle to kick some manners into your dumbass roommate. The new variety will come in two flavors, Cinnamon Almond and Oats & Honey. (Spotted by Dan at Meijer.)

Kellogg's Limited Edition Frosted Grape Pop-Tarts

I didn’t know Frosted Grape Pop-Tarts were gone. I just thought the stores I visit didn’t carry them anymore. But now they’re back for a limited time and now I want to stack one on top of a Peanut Butter Pop-Tart and then eat the two at the same time. (Spotted by Brian at Walmart.)

Jolly Rancher Lemon Lime Bites

How sour are these? Are they duck face sour? (Spotted by Bree at Target.)

Hillshire Snacking

These are part of the new Hillshire Snacking line. When did grilled chicken become a snack? (Spotted by Amanda at Target.)

Duncan Hines Limited Edition Summer Velvets Cake Mix

Dear Duncan Hines and Brach’s: STOP IT! STOP IT! Enough with the different color velvet cake mixes and candy corn. Other countries are probably making fun of us. (Spotted by Sylvia at Ralphs.)

FAST FOOD NEWS – White Castle Sriracha Chicken Slider

White Castle Sriracha Chicken Slider

I believe I know what some you are thinking, “A White Castle Sriracha Chicken Slider topped with sriracha sauce. That sounds awesome!” However, it’s not what some of you think. White Castle’s new Sriracha Chicken Slider and Ultimate Sriracha Chicken Slider doesn’t have sriracha sauce, instead the spicy sauce’s flavor and heat come from chicken’s breading.

Now all of you might be thinking, “Well, what’s that orangy sauce then?” That, my friends, is a zesty chipotle mayo. White Castle’s Ultimate Sriracha Chicken Slider also includes spicy jalapeño cheese and crunchy jalapeño crisps.

The Sriracha Chicken Slider has 400 calories, 30 grams of fat, 5 grams of saturated fat, 730 milligrams of sodium, and 9 grams of protein. The Ultimate Sriracha Chicken Slider has 460 calories, 36 grams of fat, 7 grams of saturated fat, 920 milligrams of sodium, and 11 grams of protein. Both are available for a limited time.
