SPOTTED ON SHELVES (RETURNING SEASONAL NABISCO PRODUCT EDITION) – 11/12/2013

Here are some returning seasonal Nabisco limited edition products found on store shelves by us and your fellow readers. If you’ve tried any of the products, share your thoughts about them in the comments.

Limited Edition Gingerbread Oreo

If only Gingerbread Oreo had a head I could bite off, because then I’d get even more pleasure from eating it. Here’s our review from last year. (Spotted by Marvo at Walmart.)

Limited Edition Snowflake Ritz

I’m not sure these Snowflake Ritz Crackers truly encompass what’s special about snowflakes. For example, no two snowflakes are alike, but these Snowflake Ritz Crackers all look alike. So I suggest before opening the box you stomp on it to ensure no two Snowflake Ritz Crackers are alike. (Spotted by Charmi at Safeway.)

Winter Oreo

Why won’t you die Winter Oreo that tastes exactly like regular Oreo cookies!? I’m sick of seeing you. (Spotted by Marvo at Target.)

Limited Edition Wheat Thins Holiday

Because these aren’t very interesting, I’m going to ask, “Has anyone seen the delectable Limited Edition Sweet Cinnamon Wheat Thins back on shelves?” (Spotted by Claire G. at Weis Markets.)

Limited Edition Fudge Covered Ritz

I’m trying to figure out why we see these Limited Edition Fudge Covered Ritz Crackers only during the fall season and why they never look festive. (Spotted by Dave at Target.)

Limited Edition Candy Cane Oreo

Candy Cane Oreo is back! Here’s our review from 2010. Just don’t get it confused with Peppermint Oreo, which may also be back. (Spotted by Claire G. at Target.)

QUICK REVIEW: McDonald’s Bacon Cheddar McChicken

McDonald's Bacon Cheddar McChicken

Purchased Price: $2.00
Size: N/A
Purchased at: McDonald’s
Rating: 6 out of 10
Pros: If you enjoy bacon, its smoky, meaty flavor is the most noticeable. White cheddar goes well with this sandwich. Parts of the bacon were crispy. Only two dollars.
Cons: Maybe it’s just me, but this sandwich was particularly salty. As with all other McChicken sandwiches, the shredded lettuce falls out as quickly as loose change in a pocket riddled with holes. White cheddar isn’t very melty. The usual McChicken spice isn’t detectable among the other ingredients. Not as tasty as the Bacon McDouble.

SPOTTED ON SHELVES (SEASONAL EDITION) – 11/11/2013

Here are some interesting new and limited edition products found on store shelves by us and your fellow readers. If you’ve tried any of the products, share your thoughts about them in the comments.

Market Pantry Snickerdoodle Holiday Milk

This would probably go great with a cookie, but I can’t for the life of me figure out which one. (Spotted by Andrew at Super Target.)

Planters Limited Edition Brittle Nut Medley

Planters Limited Edition Winter Spiced Mix

Planters Limited Edition Almond Chocolate Crunch

Yup. Just figured it out. His sunken eyes is what make Mr. Peanut look scary. Thanks for the nightmares, Planters. (Spotted by Lindsay at Meijer and Claire G. at Target.)

Limited Time Only Stacy's Simply Cocoa Pita Chips

I’m surprised Stacy’s didn’t come out with a Simply Pumpkin Spice flavor. I guess there’s always next year. (Spotted by Sylvia at Sprouts.)

Limited Edition Cap'n Crunch's Christmas Crunch

Ugh. It’s back. (Spotted by Charmi at Walmart.)

Sugar Cookie Peeps

Wait a minute. If sugar cookie Peeps were new last year, why are these labeled “new”? Two possible answers: these are from last year or someone can time travel. (Spotted by Erin at Target.)

FAST FOOD FIVE – 11/10/2013

IMG_0051

Here are five recent fast food news bites:

At McDonald’s and too lazy to go to Starbucks for their white chocolate mocha latte? Don’t worry because McDonald’s plans to offer their own. (via Grub Grade)

Natural cut fries can now be delivered to your car at Sonic. (via Business Wire)

After their cookie sandwich and brownie sandwich, I was hoping Taco Bell would come out with a cinnamon roll sandwich instead of this. (via Grub Grade)

Taco Bell is testing more cheap food. (via Brand Eating)

Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s start offering fresh baked buns à la Subway. I hope they don’t run out of buns like Subway does when I decide to get a sandwich at 8 p.m. (via Business Wire)

SPOTTED ON MENUS – Jack in the Box Hella-Peño Burger

Jack in the Box Hella-Peno Burger

A burger with jalapeño, jalapeño poppers, cheese, and taco sauce being tested as a Jack’s Munchie Menu item? Oh, hella yes to the Hella-peño Burger! (Spotted by Brandon at a Jack in the Box in Newark, CA.)

If you’re out getting some fast food and see a test product on the menu board, snap a picture of it, and send us an email ([email protected]) with where you found it and “Spotted” in the subject line. If you do so, you might see your picture in our next Spotted on Menus post.
