REVIEW: Baskin-Robbins Brookie Batter Ice Cream

Chocolate Chip Cookie and Brownies unite!

Here’s something I thought I’d never type: I guess sometimes Oreo cookie pieces aren’t necessary.

What made me come to that conclusion was Baskin-Robbins’ July 2026 Flavor of the Month, Brookie Batter. There’s a lot going on with this scoop. It starts with brown sugar and brownie batter flavored ice creams. Then there are chocolate chip cookie and brownie dough chunks. Suspended in all of that are brownie batter flavored swirls. Then, like icing on a cake that already had icing on it, there are Oreo cookie pieces that feel like a third wheel uncomfortably sitting at a table where brownies and chocolate chip cookies are on a date.

Did someone at Baskin-Robbins corporate accidentally add an extra zero to the Oreo amount on a purchase order, creating an Oreoabundance? Did the folks there feel guilt because the last Flavor of the Month to feature Oreo cookie pieces was back in September 2024? Because the famous chocolatey cookie pieces seem unnecessary.

Whatever the case, Brookie Batter is a great ice cream flavor with a perfect balance between cookie and brownie.

Sorry for the slightly blurry photo.

The brown sugar and brownie batter ice cream bases are enjoyable on their own and do a good job of conveying the flavors of a brookie. But the scoop gets even better with the cookie and brownie dough chunks. Both are chewy, and when you get one or the other, it imparts its flavor into the ice cream and enhances it. It was rare to get both chunks in the same spoonful, but I didn’t mind. It was like playing Brookie Bingo, except instead of random numbers being pulled from a spinning cage, chewy chunks of cookie or brownie were scooped out from my cup.

And if that weren’t enough, the brownie batter swirls kick things up another notch. They add a slight grittiness and are bursting with fudgy flavor, elevating the other brownie-flavored elements. But I do wish my scoop had more of them.

Back to the Oreo pieces, which, I’ll admit, don’t really detract from the scoop and contribute a bit of crunch, which I guess justifies their presence. But, I dunno. It’s a little weird that they’re in here without being a headliner. Maybe if Chips Ahoy pieces were alongside them, the Oreo addition would feel more intentional and less like an afterthought. But if this didn’t have them, I would still enjoy it as much.

Baskin-Robbins’ Brookie Batter is a wonderful ice cream that nails the flavors and textures of a brookie, and those gritty swirls take the scoop to another level.

REVIEW: Baskin-Robbins Fútbol Fireworks Ice Cream

Red White and Blue and Green

Baskin-Robbins forced me to learn how to type an acute accent above the u in “Fútbol” with its June 2026 Flavor of the Month, Fútbol Fireworks.

The scoop commemorating the upcoming 2026 World Cup features sweet cream soda ice cream, cherry-flavored sherbet, blue raspberry and green apple popping candy, and blue raspberry swirls. There’s a red, white, and blue theme going on. Not sure what the green is about, though. Maybe it represents the grass on the pitch? (Thanks for teaching me what a soccer field is called, Ted Lasso. Season 4 starts streaming on Apple TV+ on August 5, 2026. This is not an ad.) Or maybe the green represents the green on the Mexican flag, since the country is co-hosting the event with the US and Canada. Or maybe it’s leftover candy from a Shrek promotion years ago.

Popping candy does not pop.

The popping candy is supposed to represent the fireworks, and much like the popping candy I’ve had in ice cream from other brands and every custom player I’ve created in EA’s FIFA, they were all duds. There was no popping of any kind, and I even did the thing where you open your mouth to let in more oxygen to help trigger the candy, which only made me look like I was a hungry hatchling in the middle of a somewhat crowded Baskin-Robbins location. Instead, all they offered was a crunch similar to Nerds, which isn’t a completely horrible thing since this scoop needed some texture. But on top of the lack of popping, the blue raspberry and green apple flavors the candies were supposed to provide were also absent.

If you love cherry, you'll love this.

The blue raspberry swirls added a slight grittiness and a strong tart berry flavor when I hit a big chunk of one. But most spoonfuls were dominated by the cherry sherbet, even when I managed to get some of the blue swirl.

I was most curious about the sweet cream soda ice cream, but I couldn’t identify it as sweet cream soda-flavored, even when tasting it on its own. What the ice cream base did offer was a way to temper the cherry sherbet somewhat, which made up the majority of my scoop. Without the ice cream, the whole scoop probably would’ve been way too heavily cherry.

For the most part, Fútbol Fireworks is a cherry-flavored scoop with some crunchy candy mixed in. It’s a bit ho-hum, but if cherry is your thing, you’ll probably enjoy it. Just don’t expect any fireworks.

Baskin-Robbins Banana Dulce de Leche Ice Cream Review

Baskin-Robbins Banana Dulce de Leche Ice Cream a double scoop because I loved this flavor so much

I have banana bias. So read this Baskin-Robbins Banana Dulce de Leche Ice Cream review with your BS detector on. BS stands for “banana skewed,” of course.

But maybe there is no banana bias in this review because I imagine banana custard and brown butter ice creams with crunchy toffee pieces and dulce de leche swirls would make just about any sweet tooth dance with excitement. If that sentence made your sweet teeth shimmy, then let me tell you that it is as delightful as it sounds. Even before trying it, I knew I’d love this flavor, and I doubled down on my prediction by ordering a double scoop instead of my usual single. Or maybe I have ESP.

REVIEW: Baskin-Robbins Banana Dulce de Leche Ice Cream a closeup of a spoonful

Going into the scoop, it was a little disappointing that the banana custard ice cream made with banana puree had to share some space with a brown butter base. But it turned out pretty well for my banana-loving taste buds. While there were occasional spoonfuls in which the banana faded into the caramel-y background, most bites delivered the sweet, fruity flavor I was after. It’s not an in-your-face, overly artificial banana, and even though the sweet, buttery dulce de leche swirls, toffee pieces, and brown butter base outnumber it, it still stands out as the star of the scoop.

The dulce de leche swirls were gooey and sweet, though they tasted more like a mild caramel than a true milky dulce de leche. That said, the other sweet and buttery components in the scoop helped elevate the swirl’s flavor. The toffee pieces added a satisfying crunch, making the spoonfuls that included them a little more exciting with their textural contrast. The combination of components was extremely delightful and I so glad I got two scoops. I might have to get a few more before it goes away.

Baskin-Robbins’ Banana Dulce de Leche is easily one of my favorite scoops from the ice cream chain. But again, I go a little bananas when it comes to banana-flavored anything, so your taste buds may differ. However, if you’re also banana-skewed, then it will absolutely satisfy your banana-loving heart.

REVIEW: Baskin-Robbins The Grahammy Ice Cream

Baskin-Robbins The Grahammy Ice Cream scoop

I don’t remember the last time I watched The Grammys. Heck, I can’t remember the last time I sat through the hours of nominee reading, pharmaceutical commercials, musical performances, car commercials, speeches, cell phone plan commercials, walking on and off stages, and cutaways to celebrities in the audience of any awards show.

However, I do remember the last time I ate The Grammys, I mean, Baskin-Robbins’ January 2026 Flavor of the Month, The Grahammys. And I don’t think I’ll ever forget the moment or its wonderful name.

As you might guess by its name, it leans heavily into graham. Its base is a graham cracker-flavored ice cream, and floating in it are chocolate-covered honeycomb pieces and honey graham cracker swirls. It sounds so grahnd, and it’s a wonderful flavor to break your only eating healthy New Year’s Resolution with.

Baskin-Robbins The Grahammy Ice Cream honeycomb

Think of The Grahammy as s’mores adjacent, but unlike actual s’mores, the chocolate and marshmallow play second and tenth fiddle to the graham crackers, respectively. While the ice cream base has a mild flavor, the honeycomb pieces and graham swirls enhance it and push the honey flavor forward. They also provide outstanding textures to the scoop. The honeycomb has a hearty crunch, while the gritty honey graham cracker bits in the swirl offer smaller bursts of crispness.

However, this scoop isn’t perfect. While the chocolate on the honeycomb pieces cuts through the graham and honey flavors, making the ice cream a bit more complex, its taste and waxy texture remind me more of confections that are labeled “chocolatey.” It’s not a complete dealbreaker, though. I still thoroughly enjoyed this ice cream because of the other ingredients that make up for the less pleasing chocolate, and because it’s something unique to my taste buds. It’s delightful enough that I want it to come back every year for Grammy season, but it’s rare for Baskin-Robbins to rerelease flavors.

If you’re into honey graham, you grahave to grahb this Baskin-Robbins flavor while it’s still around. You won’t be disappointed, unlike all the nominees who didn’t win a Grammy.

REVIEW: Baskin-Robbins Pistachio Chocolate Bar Ice Cream

Baskin-Robbins Pistachio Chocolate Bar Ice Cream scoop

I can’t say I’ve ever had Dubai-style chocolate because it’s not Dubai-gas-cheap. Seriously, I understand why gas is cheap in Dubai, but why is Dubai chocolate so expensive? Is it also expensive in Dubai, where gas is cheaper than bottled water here? Baskin-Robbins’ Flavor of the Month – Pistachio Chocolate Bar – is inspired by the pricey chocolate bar that’s gotten more lasting attention than ruby chocolate.

The scoop features a mix of pistachio and chocolate-flavored ice creams, pistachio pieces, and chocolate crunch swirls. Sadly, no kadayif (finely shredded filo pastry). But with the green pistachio ice cream and the dark-ish chocolate swirls, it brings Dubai chocolate to mind.

Baskin-Robbins Pistachio Chocolate Bar Ice Cream spoonful

Eating just the two swirled ice creams in one spoonful didn’t have a good balance; the pistachio dominates. The nut pieces included only made the pistachio flavor stronger. It’s only when the stronger-tasting chocolate crunch swirls came into play that this had a better balance, and that’s when I truly loved the scoop. I spent the rest of my time with my scoop making sure I got a bit of swirl with every spoonful. Thankfully, they were plentiful. I also loved its gritty and crunchy texture.

Baskin-Robbins Pistachio Chocolate Bar Ice Cream swirl

The pistachio pieces, which there are a lot of, didn’t have as hearty a snap as those in a bag of Wonderful Pistachios, but they did have a nice crunch. Honestly, the swirls had a more pleasing texture.

As a fan of pistachio ice cream, I thoroughly enjoyed this scoop with its great flavors and textures. It’s definitely worth a taste if you’re into pistachio ice cream. While it’s also not Dubai-gas-cheap, it’s about half the price of many Dubai chocolate offerings.

One last thing. While Baskin-Robbins Pistachio Chocolate Bar Ice Cream was extremely pleasing, I’m a little disappointed there wasn’t a Thanksgiving-themed flavor for this year’s November Flavor of the Month after last year’s Brie My Guest and 2023’s Turkey Day Fixin’s.

*Because I live on a rock in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, things are a bit pricier here. You’ll probably pay less than I did. Also, I purchased this at a Baskin-Robbins in a high-rent mall.
