If you don’t follow the coffee creamer universe, fall is one of the seasons when we see new varieties from Nestle Coffee mate. This year, the brand brings us two of them — Natural Bliss Cinnamon Swirl Latte and Natural Bliss Pumpkin Spice Oat Milk Creamer.

Oh, you were hoping for pecan pie a la mode or candied yams with marshmallows? That’s not happening this year.

Natural Bliss Cinnamon Swirl Latte

When I see “cinnamon” it a coffee creamer’s name, I automatically think of the bold Big Red gum-like flavor I’ve tasted with previous cinnamon-heavy creamers. But when I took a sip of cold brew coffee with several splashes of this, the cinnamon wasn’t like that at all. It’s milder than I was expecting. I don’t know if this will make sense, but the milk and cream do more of the magic of hiding the coffee than the cinnamon. Actually, on second thought, that makes sense since this has “latte” in its name.

Being part of the “Natural Bliss” line means no artificial colors or flavors, no rBST treated cows, and an ingredients list that I can quickly type right now, and it won’t have one-word ingredients with double-digit letters — nonfat milk, heavy cream, cane sugar, and natural flavor. Yup, that’s it. Oh, according to the bottle, that natural cinnamon flavor comes from real cinnamon sticks.

This isn’t a unique variety, but it’s an enjoyable refrigerated cinnamon coffee creamer that’s all-natural. It’s something that’s been lacking from the Natural Bliss line, although I’m disappointed it’s not permanent.

Natural Bliss Pumpkin Spice Oat Milk Creamer

If you’ve had Coffee mate’s Natural Bliss Pumpkin Spice dairy creamer, which has been out for several years now, you’ll have an idea of what this tastes like.

It has the pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg flavors that you’d expect. When I drink it straight, like any normal human being would when faced with a new creamer, it reminds me of pumpkin pie. Also, this may be my taste buds’ wishful tasting, but when consuming it on its own, they think the oat milk kind of adds a flavor that could be described as pie crust-like.

When added to my cold brew, the usual seasonal flavors come through (although not the pie crust), but does it in a way that’s vegan, cholesterol-free, lactose-free, carrageenan-free, and gluten-free with no artificial colors or flavors too. If you’re looking for a non-dairy pumpkin spice creamer, this is a darn tasty choice.

For those of you who don’t follow coffee creamers, winter is usually the time of year when a slew of them are introduced. This winter, Nestle Coffee mate is offering nine new products, but I’m going to be focusing on three of them here, which I received from the brand.

Milk Chocolate M&M’s Creamer

I very much know what Milk Chocolate M&M’s taste like due to my insistence that Fun Size packs should only be eaten by pouring their entire contents into my mouth instead of consuming them one by one like a bird, if birds ate M&M’s. Even though it’s primarily milk chocolate, the classic candy has a distinct flavor.

So after going through half a bottle of Coffee mate’s Milk Chocolate M&M’s Creamer, I have to say I don’t taste the popular candy, whether it’s in coffee or poured straight into my mouth as if the bottle is my mama bird and I’m a baby bird waiting for sustenance to land into my mouth.

I mean, it’s definitely milk chocolatey, and it turns any coffee I make with it into a tasty mocha-flavored beverage. However, it’s hard to distinguish the creamer as an M&M’s product, making it a little disappointing.

Glazed Donut Creamer

The donut and coffee combo has been around as long as chocolate and peanut butter have been in each other’s business. So it’s not surprising to see Nestle attempt to recreate a donut’s flavor within a coffee creamer. However, I don’t think the brand accomplished that.

What I taste leans more towards birthday cake frosting than a glazed donut when I add it to my daily iced coffee and when I try it on its own. There aren’t any fried dough notes or anything that reminds me of a pastry.

This Coffee mate Glazed Donut Creamer is not what I was hoping for, but it’s serviceable. If you want to experience donuts and coffee, you’re going to have to do it the old fashioned way.

Oatmeal Creme Pie Creamer

Full disclosure: I don’t think I’ve ever had a Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pie. Oh, I think I just heard and felt everyone’s collective gasp. Or it could’ve been the wind. But I know what oatmeal cookies taste like and, after licking so many white, creamy, and sugary things in my life, my worn down taste buds might have an idea of what the creme tastes like. So I think I know what flavors to expect in this coffee creamer.

And one of those is, and this will sound super weird or wrong, whole grain oats. I’ve had enough oat milk in my life to know what oats taste like in liquid form, and I swear I taste something like it in this. Speaking of oats in liquid form, I wonder how this would taste if it was Coffee mate Natural Bliss Oatmeal Creme Pie Oat Milk Creamer. Just something for you to think about, Nestle.

As for other cookie ingredients, I also taste cinnamon and brown sugar. Oh, I should mention this smells precisely like oatmeal cookies, and it’s magnificent. As for the creme, my taste buds didn’t notice anything that could be considered creme-flavored. But, now that I think about it, it would be difficult to detect among the other bolder flavors.

Out of the three varieties here, I think this one is the best and most accurate tasting. But I wish it didn’t come only in a 16-ounce bottle.

Nestle’s Coffee mate has three new seasonal flavors for Fall 2020, if you’re tired of the usual pumpkin spice and peppermint mocha. They are Nestle Toll House Cookies ‘N Cocoa Creamer, Natural Bliss Mint Truffle Creamer, and Natural Bliss Caramel Toffee Almond Milk Creamer.

Nestle Toll House Cookies ‘N Cocoa Creamer

When I started drinking coffee, the first creamer I tried was Coffee mate’s Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie. I loved how it turned black coffee and its bitter flavor into brown coffee with sweet notes of chocolate and cookie dough. Sadly, the flavor no longer exists. Even sadder, this Nestle Toll House Cookies ‘N Cocoa Creamer doesn’t evoke any memories of the variety that helped start my daily coffee addiction consumption.

While this doesn’t bring back thoughts of my coffee drinking origin story, it does make my daily cold brew taste chocolatey. Although, not as much as other chocolate-flavored creamers, like the Snickers and Dove Chocolate ones. I don’t taste cookies when I drink it with coffee, but I kind of do when drinking it straight. But, I mean, who regularly drinks creamer straight from the bottle, pouring it into their mouth like it’s the basin for a water fountain sculpture.

I’ll happily use this up, but overall I found it to be a little disappointing.

Natural Bliss Mint Truffle Creamer

When taking a sip of my coffee with this creamer, my first thought was, “I’ve had this creamer before.” I want to say it reminds me of Coffee mate’s Peppermint Mocha, but I don’t recall ever trying it. Maybe I’m confusing it with all the Andes XL Snap Bars I’ve been eating to cope with the guilt of receiving a case of the candy and forgetting to promote it on this site and social media. #sorry

Natural Bliss Mint Truffle has an equal balance of mint and dark chocolate. The mint level isn’t going to make you think you’ve brushed your teeth or chewed on a piece of gum. If you’re not familiar with the Natural Bliss line, they’re all natural creamers made with real milk and cream from cows that aren’t treated with added growth hormones.

This creamer is a great addition to my cup of cold brew. It’s tasty enough that I wish it came in a bigger bottle. Maybe next year.

Natural Bliss Caramel Toffee Almond Milk Creamer

Hey, didn’t you just write that the Natural Bliss line are all natural creamers made with REAL MILK AND CREAM? This has almond milk. Okay. Okay. Coffee mate also has another Natural Bliss line that contains plant-based milks, like almond, oat, cashew, and coconut.

Usually, with almond milk creamers, I can tell if they have the nut milk. But with this one, I didn’t notice that. The caramel and toffee flavors are potent, so maybe they overwhelm the nuttiness. Also, and I know I said this about the Mint Truffle one, this one tastes similar to another creamer I’ve had. Geez, I’ve tried so many products to hide the flavor of black coffee.

My thoughts about this mirror what I think of the Mint Truffle variety. So much so that I’m going to copy and paste this: This creamer is a great addition to my cup of cold brew. It’s tasty enough that I wish it came in a bigger bottle. Maybe next year.

Coffee-mate’s Dove Dark Chocolate Almond Creamer is one of two Nestle and Mars collaboration flavors with the other one being a Snickers flavor.

This Dove Chocolate version smells like one of the best chocolate milk ever with a hint of nuttiness. But after inhaling too much of it, I noticed a bit of an odd chemical-like smell. It doesn’t completely turn me off to it, but maybe I should stick to quick huffs.

By itself, which is definitely not Nestle’s recommend way to consume its creamers, the coffee enhancer is potent. It’s sweet and tastes nothing like any Dove Dark Chocolate I’ve had. But it does have a strong cocoa flavor with a hint of almonds.

With coffee, the flavors I tasted when drinking it straight up are still there, but obviously muted because of the joe. The dark cocoa flavor blends well with the java. The almond lingers in the background, but it’s harder to detect. Overall, it’s a tasty way to enhance the dark beverage, but it’s not better or less than most Coffee-mate flavors I’ve had. No FOMO here.

The nutty flavor isn’t from almond milk. It’s more of an enhanced version of the nut from “natural flavors.” It not surprising this doesn’t have almond milk because the dairy alternative not only makes things non-dairy, it also makes products non-the-same-price-as-the-non-almond-milk-versions. Nut milk tends to make things more expensive. Oh, by the way, to clarify, this Dove one is non-dairy, like most of Nestle’s creamers.

Dove Dark Chocolate Almond is a decent addition to the long list of other flavors the Nestle creamer brand offers. It’s no International Delight Reese’s Creamer because the candy equation of Reese’s > Dove will NEVER flip. But it’s an excellent flavor to mix it up, especially for someone like me who buys the Coffee-mate three-pack at Costco that has only French Vanilla and Hazelnut and is getting tired of it despite how cheap it is.
