SPOTTED ON SHELVES – 9/26/2014

Here are some interesting new and limited edition products found on store shelves by us and your fellow readers. If you’ve tried any of the products, share your thoughts about them in the comments.

Dannon Oikos Limited Edition Pumpkin Pie Greek Yogurt

There are lots of new pumpkin yogurts this year. Someone should buy them all and compare them. If only I knew someone who ran a food review blog. (Spotted by Jacob at Walmart.)

Creative Snacks Co. Limited Edition Pumpkin Spice Yogurt Pretzels

Creative Snacks Co. Limited Edition Apple Cider Yogurt Pretzels

Hmm. I haven’t seen an apple cider-flavored product before. Well, I can’t wait until 2016 when there are half a dozen apple cider-flavored yogurts. (Spotted by Kerry at Wegmans.)

Celestial Seasonings Caramel Apple Dream Holiday Tea

No caffeine? Caramel Apple Dream ruined for me. 🙁 (Spotted by Kerry at Wegmans.)

Kemps Hometown Favorites Contest Winner Marshmallow Spumoni Twist

In case you’re wondering which flavor won Kemps Hometown Favorites Contest at the Minnesota State Fair last year. (Spotted by Erin at Byerly’s.)

Duncan Hines Limited Edition Autumn Velvets

BROWN VELVET CAKE! I called it! (Spotted by Richard at Walmart.)

YoCrunch Limited Edition Pumpkin Pie Yogurt

This post started with a pumpkin pie yogurt, so it’s fitting it ends with a pumpkin pie yogurt. (Spotted by Adam at Giant.)

  1. I hate being broke! I keep missing out on all these pumpkiny delights! That ice cream looks really, really good.

    1. The Pumkining will hit Big Lots and 99 Cents Only before the expiration dates on the packages. I get a lot of LTOs and designer flavors at the 99 Cents Only — it’s great if you like the flavor itself and don’t care about getting it exactly in season, also for trying products that were super-pricey at Safeway.

      1. This is my method for trying to catch elusive and discounted LTO and holiday products too. The spring velvet cake mixes are currently all over Big Lots.

Wouldn’t brown velvet simply be ‘chocolate’?

    1. Yes.

It has no extra ‘flavor’ just extra color.

Wondering how many people out there would be into a brown cake; especially one that isn’t chocolate flavored.

    2. Love seeing these new colors for velvet. The red velvet fad is so tired and played out. Just a pretentious name for pretentious folks to use.

  2. Chobani’s “pumpkin spice” yogurt tastes like plain old sour greek yogurt with one tiny pinch of nutmeg.
Oikos “pumpkin pie” yogurt tastes like a slice of sweet potato pie that was made with Splenda

  3. apple cider yogurt pretzels are yummy!!! Trying to find more as of early November – Krogers is sold out.
