FAST FOOD NEWS: Popeyes Magnolia Blossom Chicken

Popeyes Magnolia Blossom Chicken

Popeyes newest limited time offering is the Magnolia Blossom Chicken.

The pullable and dippable chicken is made up of all-white meat chicken breast marinated in a blend of sweet orange flavors. They’re cut to resemble the petals of a magnolia, Louisiana’s state flower. The chicken is then battered, breaded, and deep fried. It’s served with Popeyes’ new Spicy Orange dipping sauce.

A Magnolia Blossom Chicken meal with dipping sauce, a Signature side, and a buttermilk biscuit is available for $3.99 at participating locations.

If you’ve tried it, let us know what you think of it in the comments.

  1. I tried this yesterday. A few notes:

    * It’s better-shaped than the Rip’n Chicken, which was tasty but like eating a hand.

    * It has a subtle orange flavor that makes it a lot more memorable than something like the Southern Fair Chicken last month (I go to Popeye’s a lot). It might be my favorite of their limited-time items, and it was great without sauce, which came in handy because:

    * They forgot my sauce. And my coleslaw.

    * The Popeye’s here (Lansing, MI) has a platter deal that includes a drink and a (theoretical, in my case) extra side item for $6.49. I didn’t see a $3.99 offer, but I’ll check next time I hit it up.

OVERALL: This chicken might be the best thing I’ve ever had at a fast-food place, although I was still kind of annoyed that they forgot my damn coleslaw.

  2. Popeyes is notorious for forgetting items ordered. I never drive away from the window until I check my bag. Whether it be the straw for my drink, or a whole box of onion rings, something is always missing. The food here (I’m in Louisiana) is always superb. I visit a Popeyes at least once a week.

  3. I just got the meal, and it is very good, but the only meal offered was with 2 sides and a drink for $6.99.

  4. If you like you chicken tasting like an orange, you will like this. It only comes in spicy so I won’t be getting it again. It also doesn’t resemble a magnolia blossom that much. It barely looks like the chicken in the picture.

  5. Talk about forgetting things… guy told me “have a nice day” and he hadn’t given me my food yet!!
