Hey food scientists who read this site! I know there are a bunch of you. Do you think it’s possible for an Oreo to have a gooey center? I think it would’ve be awesome if this had a jelly-flavored goo. I know the goo would probably soak through the cookie, but is there some kind of edible flavorless sac that could be used? Just asking for a friend. (Spotted by Jordan A at Walmart.)

I don’t think it would be too hard to do. However, you would be correct the center of the cookie would get soggy because of water migration from the jelly. There are edible barriers, but they are very fragile and would likely break in production or transportation before you ate it. 🙂 I have always wanted to see a chewy caramel center.
They could do a thick jelly center like in twinkies banana split flavor. It is possible. Or a very thin coating of white chocolate should do the trick. That how they get drumsticks ice cream cones to stay crispy not soggy.
Yeah exactly!
That’s what i wanted to write too.
Either you do the chocolate trick (or hope a thin layer of the cream does the same), like one of our German cookie brands did with their summer flavor (white chocolate and wild berry): http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-K5yyAJlvK3A/VUUlzW3YMmI/AAAAAAAAaLg/Llq8OrZ40so/s1600/Pick%2BUp%2BWildberry.jpg
Or you somehow manage to learn the trick from the jam filled swedish cookies:

Those German cookies look amazing!
And let me tell you: They are! ^^
Though the Wildberry Version in the picture was preeeeety sweet. But not bad. 🙂
More of a chocolate type? click here! (my gf loved this triple choc version ^^)

OH HAPPY DAY!! 🙂
I had given up hope on ever seeing these when they lost the election last year and were a no show at the Food Show. Can’t wait to try!!
Peek Freans is known for its jelly-centred fruit cremes. Don’t see why Oreo can’t pull off something similar.
Not a jelly, guys. Just cream. Sorry to break everyone’s hearts!
I figured as much. But as long as it still tastes like a jelly donut, I’m stoked! Will check my Walmart tomorrow for these!
I already heard it taste more like a blueberry muffin 😉 (due to the blueberry jelly they used…)
Not bad, but not like a Berliner 😉
