  1. Marvo, you may not have heard of Stauffer’s, but you must’ve had them. Right? Right?!? I almost always have a jar of them on hand for quick snacks. This might be controversial, but animal “crackers” (Stauffer’s) are so much better than animal cookies (Nabisco/Barnum).

    1. Curious: What is the difference (other than in the name)? How do they compare? I’ve always thought that they were one and the same.

      1. While I don’t think there any hard-and-fast rules, I’ve always thought of them like this. Animal cookies are more like a shortbread or Teddy Graham consistency. Animal crackers have the smooth top and slightly more airy.

    2. I also think it’s crazy he’s never heard of them. I have an unnatural addiction to them! I always have like a 5 pound jar of them on hand. I love eating them with ice cream. They are far superior to animal cookies.

  2. HALLOWEEN?? Already?? Are you joking me?? Ugh…I HATE how everything is so disgustingly rushed with every single stupid holiday, these days. (Yes, I do get pretty riled-up about the topic…as I’m sure you’ve just noticed. And I make no apologies, for that fact. 😛 )

  3. The Stauffer’s Animal Crackers were a staple in my house for decades. My retired mother is still never without them, they’re the best!

    1. I went WAY off on that very same fact…but, for some reason, my comment didn’t post??

At any rate: I could not agree more! It straight up incenses me when holidays several months in the future are already being shoved down our throats! ::rant over::

  4. I love when Halloween stuff is put out way early. Time goes so quickly it let’s you enjoy it.

    1. I’m personally excited because I love the Reese’s holiday shapes, and this hopefully means the Pumpkins will also be coming out soon.

    2. I’ve bought some of the Reese’s Pumpkins at Walmart, but I am in no rush to see anything with Pumpkin/Pumpkin Spice. I mean around December/January they usually put out the single serve Reese’s Eggs/Cadbury regular/caramel for Easter.

  5. The frosted flakes drink tastes just like the milk after you’ve eaten the cereal

    1. SPAM is short for “spiced ham.”

I therefore dub this chopped ham product…

      CHAM.

  6. I like the idea of chopped ham in a Spam-sized metal container. It should keep longer than the Buddig thin-sliced meats which need to stay refrigerated, and almost certainly it won’t have a gelatinous coating on the outside like a block of Spam.

    1. I would imagine that like all ham in metal containers, it most certainly will. It’s part of the preservation technique. that makes it shelf stable.

  7. Stauffer Biscuit Co. has been around for 150 years and this is the first time I’ve heard of it.

Hey Robbie I guarentee you have heard of them.

They are the company that puts out the red cirrus box with the white string handle of animal crackers.

    1. I don’t think Stauffer puts out the ones in the red box. That’s Nabisco. Stauffer always comes in a bag or a plastic bear container.

    2. It wasn’t Robbie who has never heard of the product it was the site owner Marvo (Robbie’s the one who found it in the store). I can’t speak for Marvo, but since he’s in Hawaii perhaps they don’t have Stauffers products? My sister & her family moved to another state & they don’t get Utz potato chips & Snyders so my mom sent them some in a care package.
