Geez, are odd holiday flavors going to be an annual thing from Mtn Dew? Gingerbread Snap’d last year and now these fruitcake Dews this year. Here’s an idea, Mtn Dew. Mtn Dew Coal, a Dew with a blast of charcoal flavor. (Spotted by @audiopanacea at Speedway.)
Tried it yesterday. Not any “cake” flavor though I guess that’s hard to pull off in a soda unless you just pack in some vanilla. This mostly just tasted like an ultra sweet fruit punch. It’s a lot better than the Gingerbread Christmas soda from last year, but that’s a low bar to clear.
Next year it’s slated to be “Cobra Cane” and candy cane flavored dew.
I’m hoping they’ll bring back Merry Mash-Up. That’s my all-time favorite Mountain Dew. Would’ve stocked up if I knew they were going to get rid of it these past 2 years.
I tried the Fruit Quake and didn’t get a fruit cake vibe. What it tastes like to me is Fruit Stripe gum. It’s pretty good.
