What exactly is Dairy-Free Grass Fed Collagen Yogurt made from?

    1. Stephen M.

Collagen yogurt is made from yogurt and hydrolyzed collagen peptides, which are broken down proteins from collagen. Other ingredients may include:
*Fructose, Fruit juice concentrates, Gum arabic, Lacto-fermentation concentrate, Vitamin C, Malic acid, Flavoring, Yeast extracts, Xanthan gum, and Sodium citrate.
Collagen: The most abundant protein in the body, collagen provides structure and support to skin, muscles, bones, and connective tissues.
Hydrolyzed collagen peptides: Collagen that has been processed to break down the proteins into smaller pieces.
Gelatin: The cooked form of collagen.
Collagen supplements may be derived from animal products like beef, pork, or fish. They may not be safe for people with allergies to fish, shellfish, or eggs, or for people with a vegetarian or vegan diet.

Thanks, Stephen. I still cannot figure out what is grass-fed, though. If it’s dairy-free, it’s collagen not from a cow’s milk. If its coming from another animal, like a pig, well I guess a pig can be grass-fed. I don’t know that a fish can be grass-fed. Maybe from a beef cow, not a dairy cow? Don’t know.

Collagen comes from the animal bones, not from the milk produced by the cow. If someone is allergic to a milk protein, it should not matter that the collagen comes from a cow. I also think it is a grass-fed cow, which I would assume would effect the collagen produced by the cow since you are what you eat (I am not in the science field).

        Got it! Thanks, Wendy.

Collagen is something that is super celebrated by diet culture right now and it’s fine if you want to consume it, but the claims that it reverses aging and revitalizes your skin by reducing wrinkles are BS.

The only thing I bought that I felt a sucker for purchasing was the Bloom Greens. I didn’t get it for any health reasons or their claims I just wanted to see what the hype was about. Utterly disgusting. Maybe I can hide the taste in some juice.

The only things I buy that are considered food supplements are protein bars, some powders, & some protein drinks since there are days I am in a rush in the morning & with my ADHD I don’t have the executive function to cook much.
