QUICK REVIEW: Nabisco Sweet Barbecue Rice Thins

Nabisco Sweet Barbecue Rice Thins

Purchased Price: $3.00 (on sale)
Size: 3.5 oz box
Purchased at: Safeway
Rating: 8 out of 10
Pros: I’m surprised by how much I enjoyed these and they satisfy my taste buds as much as any Wheat Thins. Bold, sweet barbecue flavor, with a very slight kick, that made me forget I was eating something called Rice Thins. Better for you than Wheat Thins. If you’re allergic to gluten and want a crispy snack that’s full of flavor, you can’t go wrong with these.
Cons: The negative rice snack stereotype I created in my head thanks to being fed rice cakes as a child. Picking up a box will make you think you’re packing on some muscle, but it just that this snack is super light and airy. It’s a bit too easy to eat through an entire box.

COMING SOON – Nabisco Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Creme Oreo Cookies

Nabisco Reese s Peanut Butter Cup Creme Oreo Cookies

(Update: Click here to read our Nabisco Limited Edition Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Oreo Cookies review.)

We talked about these on a recent episode of The Nosh Show, but we weren’t sure when they were going to be released. Well, it appears it’ll be happening soon because the product has shown up on the Walmart website (Sorry. Its page on the Walmart website has been taken down) .(Hat tip to Mike N.). My inner Cookie Monster is super excited, but I’m also a bit cautious because Nabisco has teamed up with Reese’s in the past to make Chips Ahoy cookies with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and those didn’t have the distinct flavor of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

GLOBAL GRUB – Paprika Pringles and Hot & Spicy Pringles (Italy)

Paprika and Hot & Spicy Pringles

Paprika is a common chip flavour in Europe and after looking through the international Pringles sites, most European countries have Paprika Pringles as a standard flavor. As for Hot & Spicy, it was offered in the U.S. for a while and I did try them. I don’t remember what they taste like, but my taste buds have not forgotten their burn. Hot & Spicy appears to be available in fewer European countries. And that is your Pringles lesson for the day. (Thanks Anastasia in Italy for the photo!)
