I remember when Arby’s was only known for roast beef and curly fries? I. Am. Old. Turkey has slowly become just as prominent as roast beef on the Arby’s menu board.

QSR Magazine:

Turkey Roasters are served hot and feature oven-roasted turkey that is thinly sliced each day in the restaurants.

There are three varieties to choose from:

Grand Turkey Club – Sliced roast turkey with melted Swiss cheese, pepper bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on a toasted harvest wheat bun

Turkey ‘n Cheddar Classic – Thinly sliced oven-roasted turkey topped with cheddar cheese and zesty Red Ranch sauce on a toasted onion roll

Turkey Classic – Thinly sliced oven-roasted turkey on a toasted sesame seed bun

A Turkey Classic has 290 calories, 5 grams of fat, 1 grams of saturated fat, 1020 milligrams of sodium, and 24 grams of protein. A Turkey ‘n Cheddar Classic has 450 calories, 12 grams of fat, 2 grams of saturated fat, 1480 milligrams of sodium, and 27 grams of protein. A Grand Turkey Club has 490 calories, 24 grams of fat, 8 grams of saturated fat, 1440 milligrams of sodium, and 29 grams of protein.

Taco Bell’s new A.M. Crunchwrap is exactly how I imagined it in my greasy dreams. Sadly, only available at Taco Bell locations that offer breakfast, which is zero here on this rock in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

The new breakfast version features scrambled eggs, cheese and a choice of bacon or sausage instead of beef. And in place of the crispy inner tostada shell, the A.M. Crunchwrap features a hash brown patty. Those ingredients are then wrapped in a soft flour tortilla and grilled.

I can’t wait see what I dream of the next time I eat a Taco Bell FourthMeal and fall asleep soon after.

McDonald’s sells chicken in so many ways. There’s McNuggets, McBites, Chicken Selects Premium Breast Strips, grilled chicken filets, crispy chicken filets, crispy chicken patties, and now in Atlanta they’re selling bone-in chicken wings.

McDonald’s Mighty Wings showed up on Metro Atlanta menu boards earlier this month. According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the chicken wings come in three-, five- and ten-piece servings, starting at $2.99.

The article also says the chicken comes with either Creamy Ranch, Spicy Buffalo, and Tangy Barbecue sauce, but I’m sure you could ask for any of the other McNuggets sauces, like the great Hot Mustard.

Putting Wendy’s Frosty in waffle cones is such a great idea that I bet Dave Thomas’ spirit was smiling when someone at Wendy’s came up with the idea. I also hope Dave Thomas was playing chess with Ray Kroc when it happened and yelled in Mr. Kroc’s face, “BOOYAH!”

According to Grub Grade, they’re being tested in Portland, Oregon (sorry Portland, Maine) for $1.49. A quick search on Twitter shows Frosty Waffle Cones might also available in other cities, like Milwaukee and Miami.

Really, Krispy Kreme?

Caramel apple and cotton candy flavored doughnuts? Is that the best Krispy Kreme can come up with to represent the great county fairs across our great nation? No one goes to county fairs for caramel apples and cotton candy.

Today, county fairs are all about (cue heavy metal guitar riffs) deep fried candy, cookies, vegetables, sandwiches, breakfast cereals, and processed meats. Yeow! (end heavy metal guitar riffs)

Krispy Kreme’s Caramel Apple Cake Doughnut is a glazed, apple-flavored cake doughnut that’s topped with caramel icing. The Cotton Candy Doughnut is an Original Glazed doughnut dipped in blue cotton candy sugar.

Both will be available at participating Krispy Kreme locations from August 20-September 30.
