NEWS: McDonald’s Testing Chicken McWraps In Chicago

McDonald's

Oh, you lucky bastards in Chicago.

Some of you Chicagoans get to enjoy McDonald’s larger-than-a-Snack-Wrap McWraps while they’re testing it in the region and the rest of us in the country have to settle for tiny Snack Wraps that make our hands look huge.

McWraps are new to the United States, but they’ve been available for over a year in many other countries, like Brazil, Hungary, Switzerland, El Salvador, and other countries with their McWrap commercials on YouTube.

Participating locations in Chicago are offering three McWrap varieties: Chicken & Bacon, Sweet Chili Chicken, and Chicken & Ranch. Like their smaller brethren, all three are available with either grilled or crispy chicken. The tortilla wraps are priced at $3.99 each.

Grub Grade posted a quick look at the Chicken & Bacon McWrap.

NEWS: Jack in the Box’s Mini Corn Dogs Make Jack’s Head Look Even Bigger

Update: Click here to read our Jack in the Box Mini Corn Dogs review

Jack in the Box has a history with “mini” finger foods. They released mini sirloin burgers, mini buffalo ranch chicken sandwiches, mini cookies, and mini churros. The latest mini-fied food added to Jack in the Box’s menu are mini corn dogs.

The deep fried mini corn dogs are made up of sausage surrounded by a sweet, crispy exterior. The Jack in the Box location where I took the picture above offered five pieces for $1.99, but prices may vary at other locations. Each serving comes with either mustard or ketchup, but if you talk real sexy like to the cashier, I’m sure you could get both. Jack in the Box’s Mini Corn Dogs are available for a limited time.

NEWS: Wendy’s Pushes Out Son of Baconator

After learning about Wendy’s new Son of Baconator, I wondered if Wendy’s Double Stack and original Baconator made greasy love to bring Son of Baconator to life.

While the original Baconator uses four-ounce patties and has six strips of Applewood Smoked Bacon, Son of Baconator has two 2.25-ounce beef patties (the same ones used in Wendy’s Jr. burgers and the Double Stack), four strips of bacon, two slices of American cheese, ketchup, and mayo on a buttered toasted bun.

Son of Baconator may not be as big as his father, but his nutrition facts make him sound pretty grown up. It has 700 calories, 43 grams of fat, 18 grams of saturated fat, 1.5 grams of trans fat, 130 milligrams of cholesterol, 1,760 milligrams of sodium, 40 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of fiber, 9 grams of sugar, and 39 grams of protein.

100_3610

Me likey this trend of fast food joints offering sweet potato on their menu because I love the vitamin A it contains, which gives me killer night vision, which allows me to scoff at those who need flashlights.

Wendy’s had their Baked Sweet Potato, Burger King has their Sweet Potato Fries, and now Carl’s Jr. has made available their own Sweet Potato Fries.

Although, to be honest, this whole sweet potato thing should’ve happened a long time ago.

According to Foodbeast, Carl’s Jr.’s Sweet Potato Fries are available for a limited time and won’t be available at sibling chain Hardee’s. They’re available in small, medium, and large and prices start at $1.99.

A small serving of Carl’s Jr. Sweet Potato Fries has 440 calories, 24 grams of fat, 4 grams of saturated fat, 0 milligrams of cholesterol, 480 milligrams of sodium, 54 grams of carbohydrates, 6 grams of fiber, 16 grams of sugar, and 3 grams of protein.
