Update: Click here to read our Dunkin’ Donuts Vanilla Bean Coolatta review.

I thought everything that could’ve been Oreo-fied had be Oreo-fied, but Dunkin’ Donuts has shown me how wrong I was by introducing their new Oreo Coffee Coolatta and Oreo Vanilla Bean Coolatta.

The new blended Oreo Coolattas beverages are available for a limited time.

A small (16 ounce) Oreo Coffee Coolatta with cream has 480 calories, 26 grams of fat, 15 grams of saturated fat, 0.5 grams of trans fat, 80 milligrams of cholesterol, 210 milligrams of sodium, 64 grams of carbohydrates, 49 grams of sugar, 1 gram of fiber, and 4 grams of protein. If you think the fat totals are a bit too high, you can make it better for you by swapping the cream with milk or skim milk.

A small Oreo Vanilla Bean Coolatta has 420 calories, 9 grams of fat, 4 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 20 milligrams of cholesterol, 230 milligrams of sodium, 88 grams of carbohydrates, 75 grams of sugar, 1 gram of fiber, and 3 grams of protein. If you think the sugar total is a bit too high, you can make it better for you by pouring half of the frozen beverage on the ground.

Dunkin’ Donuts also has new Oreo donuts, but I’m too Oreo-ed out to explain them.

(Thanks to TIB reader Christopher for the heads up!)

NEWS: Take A Break From Walking Around the Mall and Enjoy Häagen-Dazs’ New Sweet Balsamic Strawberry Sundae

Strawberries

If you frequent a Häagen-Dazs shop, don’t get your usual scoop of Rum Raisin or something boring like that. Instead, try Häagen-Dazs’ new Sweet Balsamic Strawberry Sundae.

Unless, you’re allergic to strawberries, then stick with your usual scoop of Rum Raisin.

The dessert, or mid-mall shopping spree treat, is constructed of two scoops of strawberry ice cream with a drizzle of handmade tangy balsamic strawberry sauce, and topped with whipped cream. The ice cream and sauce creates a sweet, tangy, and creamy combination.

According to this story on the QSR website, Häagen-Dazs’ strawberry ice cream uses only Hood and Totem strawberries. This blew my mind because I thought there was only one type of strawberries — strawberries. I am now educated. Thanks, Häagen-Dazs!

The Sweet Balsamic Strawberry Sundae will be available at Häagen-Dazs shops for a limited time.

NEWS: Pizza Hut’s Garlic Bread Pizza Looks Like Gigantic Bagel Bites

Pizza Hut, Fernandina Beach, FL (Amelia Island)

Update: Click here to read our Pizza Hut Garlic Bread Pizza review

Wow. The test kitchens at Pizza Hut are quickly churning out new and interesting ways to deliver meat, cheese, and bread to our gullets. Last month, it was the P’Zolo and this month it’s their new G’rlic Bre’d pizza… I mean, Garlic Bread Pizza.

Pizza Hut takes thick slices of buttery garlic bread and tops it with cheese and your choice of pizza toppings. Top it with pepperoni, ham, pork, beef, Italian sausage, or bacon pieces. Not into meat? Well, you can get veggies as well. You can get nine slices with your choice of one topping for $8.99.

These sound nice, but I’m waiting for Pizza Hut to introduce French bread pizza, just like my momma used to make in the toaster oven.

NEWS: McDonald’s Offering Frappé Chocolate Chip To Cool You Down This Summer and Spicy Chicken McBites To Do The Opposite

Although not as vast as what Burger King is offering during this summer, McDonald’s has a couple of new products available for a limited time — the Frappé Chocolate Chip and Spicy Chicken McBites.

The Spicy Chicken McBites were being tested in certain regions over the past few months, but now they’re being rolled out nationwide. They’re available in the same three sizes regular Chicken McBites come in: snack, regular, and shareable.

A regular size Spicy Chicken McBites has 410 calories, 25 grams of fat, 4.5 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 55 milligrams of cholesterol, 890 milligrams of sodium, 27 grams of carbohydrates, 0 grams of fiber, and 21 grams of protein.

While I expected the Spicy Chicken McBites to be available nationwide, I didn’t see the McCafé Frappé Chocolate Chip coming. The creamy, blended beverage combines ice, a caramel coffee frappe base, a mocha coffee frappe base, and chocolate chips, all of which is topped with whipped cream and a double fisted dose of caramel and chocolate drizzles.

A medium Chocolate Chip Frappé has 630 calories, 28 grams of fat, 18 grams of saturated fat, 1 gram of trans fat, 70 milligrams of cholesterol, 170 milligrams of sodium, 89 grams of carbohydrates, 81 grams of sugar, 1 gram of fiber, and 9 grams of protein.

NEWS: Cool Down Your Innards With Wendy’s Strawberry Shortcake Frosty Parfait

strawberries

It’s going to get really hot soon and you’re going to need something to cool down. Sure, to keep cool you could walk around in wet clothing or have robots use giant feathers to fan you, but that will only keep you cool on the outside.

What about the inside?

You could drink a glass of ice water, have nanobots use microscopic feathers to fan your innards, or your could eat Wendy’s new Strawberry Shortcake Frosty Parfait. The latest addition to the Frosty Parfait line is available for a limited time and consists of strawberry puree, vanilla Frosty, and shortbread cookie chunks topped with whipped cream and fresh strawberry pieces. On Second Scoop reviewed it.

A Wendy’s Strawberry Shortcake Frosty Parfait has 370 calories, 110 calories from fat, 12 grams of fat, 9 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 35 milligrams of cholesterol, 135 milligrams of sodium, 58 grams of carbohydrates, 46 grams of sugar, 1 gram of fiber, 7 grams of protein, 10% vitamin A, 15% vitamin C, and 25% calcium.

Some of you might be thinking, “Hey, that’s not very healthy for something with fruit!” And you would be correct. If you’d like a slightly healthier Wendy’s Frosty Parfait with fruit, might I suggest the caramel apple one, which has 340 calories, 8 grams of fat, 4 grams of saturated fat, and 20% vitamin C.

Or, if you want a slightly healthier Wendy’s Frosty Parfait without fruit, go and enjoy the Oreo Frosty Parfait, which has 330 calories, 9 grams of fat, and 4.5 grams of saturated fat.
