SPOTTED ON SHELVES – 7/17/2013

Here are some interesting new and limited edition products found on store shelves by us and your fellow readers. If you’ve tried any of the products, share your thoughts about them in the comments.

Nabisco Raspberry Oreo Fudge Cremes

Why hello there, Raspberry Oreo Fudge Cremes. We haven’t met in person, but we have met in my dreams. (Spotted by Richard at Safeway.)

Popcorners Sweet Cinnamon

Popcorners. Cute name, but I personally would’ve named it Popcornography. Dammit! I need to trademark that and start a popcorn company. Chip Review tried them. (Spotted by Marc at Wegmans.)

Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Strawberry Greek Yogurt

I was a little tired of seeing Greek yogurt being added so many products, but then I thought of Greece and wondered if they have it worse and if a junk food blogger there is tired of seeing American yogurt being added to so many products. (Spotted by Kelcey at CVS.)

Thomas' Limited Edition Banana Bread English Muffins

I’m glad Thomas made limited edition banana bread-flavored English muffins because limited edition English muffin-flavored banana bread would’ve sucked. i(Spotted by Claire at Weis.)

Banquet Sausage & Buttermilk Biscuit

Banquet breakfast! (Spotted by Marvo at Safeway.)

Lightlife Smitten with Chik'n Pot Pie

I’d be smitten with this chik’n pot pie, but I’d be more smitten with a Britain kitten gettin’ crazy with a mitten. (Spotted by Marvo at Safeway.)

Archer Farms Spicy Habanero Lime

It appears Archer Farms wants to burn our mouths with Mexican-Asian fusion appetizers. (Spotted by Marvo at Target.)

QUICK REVIEW: Archer Farms Garden Vegetable Ranch Reduced-Fat Potato Chips

Archer Farms Garden Vegetable Ranch Reduced-Fat Potato Chips

Purchased Price: $3.49
Size: 8 oz bag
Purchased at: Target
Rating: 6 out of 10
Pros: Reduced fat, but it doesn’t taste like reduced fat thanks to the seasoning which tricks your taste buds really well. Sneaks in carrots much like how the cafeteria workers at my elementary school did. Comes in a resealable bag. Kettle cooked crunchiness.
Cons: Holy crap these suckers are salty. Tastes like those cheap Lipton Chicken Noodle Cup-A-Soup. Can’t eat a whole lot in one sitting. Seasoning is a bit overpowering and makes me want to wash my hands instead of sucking off the residue on my fingers.

Nutrition Facts: 1 oz/about 12 chips – 130 calories, 6 grams of fat, 0.5 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans fat, 0 milligrams of cholesterol, 190 milligrams of sodium, 18 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of fiber, 1 gram of sugar, 2 grams of protein.

QUICK REVIEW: Weight Watchers Smart Ones Smart Beginnings Apples & Cinnamon Oatmeal

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Smart Beginnings Apples & Cinnamon Oatmeal

Purchased Price: $2.69
Size: Two 5.785 cups
Purchased at: Target
Rating: 6 out of 10
Pros: Good cinnamon and apple flavor. If you like your oatmeal thick, you may like this (it can easily be thinned with water or milk). Good source of fiber. Decent amount of apples. Slightly better tasting than the Maple & Brown Sugar one. While waiting for it to heat up, you can pluck your eyebrows or nose hairs.
Cons: Granola isn’t crunchy and it just blends in with the oatmeal. Leaves a weird temporary coating in my mouth. Part of a complete breakfast, but not filling enough to be the only thing you eat for breakfast. It contains something called “butter flavor.” The glow of the microwave being the first light you see every morning.
