Ben Jerry s Oat of this Swirled Ice Cream

Update: We reviewed it! Click here to read our review.

Are you a fan of Ben & Jerry’s discontinued Oatmeal Cookie Chunk Ice Cream? Wait, let me rephrase that. Are you mad at Ben & Jerry’s for discontinuing Oatmeal Cookie Chunk? If so, do not read the rest of this post because it may make you angrier.

Earlier this month we covered a couple of upcoming Ben & Jerry’s flavors, but there’s a third and that’s Oat of this Swirled. The new flavor features buttery brown sugar ice cream with fudge flakes and oatmeal cinnamon cookie swirls.

It’s somewhat similar to the beloved Oatmeal Cookie Chunk, which had sweet cream cinnamon ice cream, oatmeal cookies, and fudge chunks. So Oat of this Swirled is maddeningly close to the flavor that now sits in Ben & Jerry’s Flavor Graveyard.

If you’re not familiar with the story about the discontinued flavor, it was taken off shelves because Ben & Jerry’s couldn’t find a replacement supplier for the oatmeal cookies who could produce cookies as good as the original. So instead of putting mediocre cookies into their ice cream, they discontinued the flavor in 2012.

COMING SOON: Pringles Jamaican Jerk

Pringles Jamaican Jerk

Walmart used to get most of the exclusive Pringles flavors, but now another store chain that begins with W-A-L is getting them. According to our friend Candy Hunting, Walgreens might be selling Pringles Jamaican Jerk sometime in March.

Last August, the Walgreens’ Twitter account posted this poll to find out which new Pringles flavors their followers would like to see at the drug store chain.

Jamaican Jerk ended up being the second most popular flavor, behind Cheddar BBQ, which has been sold before. The other two flavor choices – Sweet Thai Chili and Original Hot Sauce – are also not new flavors.

Last year, Mars gave us Chili Nut M&M’s to tingle our taste buds. Later this year, Nestle will offer Smokin’ Hot Butterfinger Peanut Butter Cups, a limited edition spicy version of their not-as-good-as-Reese’s peanut butter cups. According to Candy Hunting, cayenne pepper is added to the peanut butter to give it a spicy kick.

COMING SOON: Malt-O-Meal Cookie & Cream Cereal

Malt-O-Meal Cookies & Cream Cereal

Do you miss Post Oreo O’s cereal? Are you tired of buying boxes of Oreo O’s cereal from South Koreans? If you said “yes,” then I have some good news for you. The cereal appears to be coming back, but not with the Oreo name.

Malt-O-Meal, which is a brand under Post Holdings, will soon be offering a cereal that looks like the beloved Oreo O’s, but with a generic name, Cookies & Cream.

The photo above was sent in by Impulsive Buy reader Franklin W, who also got to try the cereal and said about it, “It’s called Cookies & Cream but as best as I can remember, it tastes identical to Oreo O’s to me. Post Consumer Brands own the Malt O Meal brand so it’s likely the same recipe, just not under the Post brand and Oreo moniker.”
