Update: Click here to read our Nestle Crunch Limited Edition Thin Mints Girl Scouts Candy Bar review

A few of months ago, the internet went crazy when an image of a Nestle Crunch Girl Scout Thin Mints candy bar was posted on Reddit. Some thought it was fake, but it ended up being real, and now we’re really close to enjoying that Nestle Crunch Girl Scout Thin Mints candy bar, which will be released next month, along with two other varieties.

The three Nestle Crunch Girl Scout Candy Bars varieties are:

Thin Mints – Dark chocolate cookie wafers and mint chocolate creme, topped with crispies and a rich, dark chocolatey coating

Caramel & Coconut – Cookie wafers layered with coconut caramel creme and chewy caramel, topped with toasted coconut and drizzled with caramel stripes

Peanut Butter Creme РCookie wafers layered with smooth peanut butter cr̬me, topped with crispies and a chocolatey coating

The candy bars will be available nationwide for a limited time, beginning June 1 through September. But if you’re impatient and really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really want them, you can order them through a special, limited supply pre-sale program via the Nestle Crunch Facebook page. Aw, pre-sale…that’s cute. Just like regular Girl Scout Cookies.

Even though candy bars have the Girl Scouts name, Girl Scout Troops won’t be selling them.

NEWS: Ben & Jerry’s Releases New Flavors and Greek Frozen Yogurt

Update: Click here to read our Ben & Jerry’s Greek Frozen Yogurt review

On Second Scoop recently discovered some of Ben & Jerry’s new flavors at his local grocery store.

The first flavor, Chocolate Therapy, isn’t new new, it debuted in 2005 as a limited batch and it’s been available at Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops for years, but it’s back in pint form. The concoction is made up of chocolate ice cream with chocolate cookies and swirls of chocolate pudding ice cream. The second flavor, Chocolate Nougat Crunch, is definitely new new and it consists of sweet cream ice cream with fudge covered wafer cookies and a chocolate nougat swirl.

Ben & Jerry’s also released a line of Greek Frozen Yogurt and Junk Food Guy reviewed the Strawberry Shortcake flavor, which is strawberry Greek frozen yogurt with shortbread pieces mixed in. In the review, he also mentions other flavors available at his local Giant store, like Raspberry Chocolate and Blueberry Graham Cracker.

According to this post on Houston on the Cheap, Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop are replacing their frozen yogurt with the new Greek frozen yogurt line. The flavors include Vanilla, Raspberry Fudge Chunk, Blackberry Vanilla Graham Cracker, and Banana Peanut Butter.

While the two ice cream flavors are nice, I’m excited about the Ben & Jerry’s Greek Frozen Yogurt line, especially the Banana Peanut Butter flavor. Oh, if only Elvis was alive today, I’m sure he would also be excited about the Banana Peanut Butter flavor.

NEWS: Mountain Dew To, FINALLY, Bring Back Grape-Flavored Pitch Black

Pitch black, or not

Over the past five years, McDonald’s has brought back the McRib four times in the United States. During those same five years, not once did Pepsi bring back what I think is the best Mountain Dew flavor of all time — Pitch Black.

The grape Mountain Dew flavor was introduced in Fall 2004 and it was also re-released in 2005, although it was reformulated and not as good as the original.

However, after years of whining and testing my patience, I’m happy to say Mountain Dew Pitch Black, one of my favorite ways to consume high fructose corn syrup, is returning for a limited time as part of their “Back By Popular DEW-mand” promotion. I don’t know which version they’ll be bringing back or if they have a new version of the soda that will probably be called Pitch Black 3, but I’m just glad Pepsi decided to bring it back, period.

Mountain Dew Pitch Black will be available for eight weeks, beginning in May 2011. I just hope they bring it back Next year, and the year after that.
