There’s a story behind how I got this $20 Sonic Drive-In gift card.

We recently covered Sonic’s Lil’ Breakfast Burritos and a few days after that I received an email from a PR firm asking if I could cover the new breakfast items that’s available all day. The email also said if we covered it, we’d get a gift card. The opportunity to receive a gift card reminded me that I had to do this year’s Season of Giving, which slipped my mind.

I replied by saying we already covered it and asked if I could still get the gift card and give it away with a prize drawing. The PR person said it’s okay. So thanks, Sonic, for the the gift card and reminding me about TIB’s annual Season of Giving.

It’s probably cold where you are, and it’ll be that way for the next few months. So this $10 Starbucks gift card we’re giving away today might help one of you keep warm this winter by using it to purchase hot Starbucks beverages or by setting it on fire.

This year, Starbucks made more noise with their frozen Frappuccino beverages than with their hot beverages. The coffee chain released three bright, social media-friendly Frappuccino drinks — Unicorn, Zombie, and Christmas Tree. With all the attention those three got, I imagine we’ll be seeing more colorful Frappuccinos in 2018.

I can easily rattle off a bunch of BK products that came out this year off the top of my head, like the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shake, Froot Loops Shake, Lucky Charms Shake, Flamin’ Hot Mac ‘n Cheetos, Farmhouse King, Spicy Nuggets, Crispy Chicken Sandwich, and I could go on. But I can’t say the same about the other big fast food chains.

So congratulations, Burger King, for winning the award for Most Chicken Sandwich Variations in a Year, if TIB offered awards. To celebrate your victory for an award that doesn’t exist, we’re going to give away a $10 Burger King gift card.
