COMING SOON: Ben & Jerry’s Oat of this Swirled Ice Cream

Ben Jerry s Oat of this Swirled Ice Cream

Update: We reviewed it! Click here to read our review.

Are you a fan of Ben & Jerry’s discontinued Oatmeal Cookie Chunk Ice Cream? Wait, let me rephrase that. Are you mad at Ben & Jerry’s for discontinuing Oatmeal Cookie Chunk? If so, do not read the rest of this post because it may make you angrier.

Earlier this month we covered a couple of upcoming Ben & Jerry’s flavors, but there’s a third and that’s Oat of this Swirled. The new flavor features buttery brown sugar ice cream with fudge flakes and oatmeal cinnamon cookie swirls.

It’s somewhat similar to the beloved Oatmeal Cookie Chunk, which had sweet cream cinnamon ice cream, oatmeal cookies, and fudge chunks. So Oat of this Swirled is maddeningly close to the flavor that now sits in Ben & Jerry’s Flavor Graveyard.

If you’re not familiar with the story about the discontinued flavor, it was taken off shelves because Ben & Jerry’s couldn’t find a replacement supplier for the oatmeal cookies who could produce cookies as good as the original. So instead of putting mediocre cookies into their ice cream, they discontinued the flavor in 2012.

    1. Oatmeal Cookie Chunk (the beloved and discontinued) didn’t have raisins in the oatmeal cookies and neither does this. And I don’t know what planet you live in. Oatmeal Raisin cookies are the closest thing to God! I eat them every day.

  1. Oh how I have missed u this taste so freaking good almost identical ty ty ty ty ty ty

  2. An oatmeal cookie swirl bite is as good as a whole original cookie anyways!!! Only thing is I ran across this exact flavor in an out of the way convenient store and it was the only one back in 2008. Been looking through freezers ever since never seeing it until today… found one with the “new” top so it says, except mine is all iced over and bottom date says Dec04! What gives man? So I looked it up again and hope some day to have that orgasmic flavoring of oatmeal cookie land that will soon be illegal as my luck goes. I know Hugh Romney (Wavy Gravy) does that get me any points down south?

    1. Did some research after my impulse comment and I believe the date is an expiration date (on ice cream?) and read it wrong to being Dec 2018. But yes it did take me since 2008 to reunite with Oat of this swirled!!! Must of become much more popular since I finally gave up looking, Walmart has it in stock down the street. Great flavor combo and I’m usually a decadent dark dark chocolate lover… but just as decadent in that homey creamy cinnamon sense.
